But Arteta has preferred a more full-blooded approach to practice, and Tierney’s attitude has caught the eye of the Spanish boss.
Tierney has been a mainstay in Arsenal’s side since the restart, with the left-back impressing.
The former Celtic man struggled with injury soon after joining the Gunners, but his performances in recent weeks have proven his quality.
Tierney now looks almost certain to start when Arsenal take on Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby, and his tenacious tackling will certainly be encouraged on that occasion.
