Arsenal did a complete u-turn on Reiss Nelson during the January transfer window, CBS reports.
Arsenal initially told Nelson that he would not be going anywhere, but as the days went by Mikel Arteta relented.
Arsenal then decided to try and find the winger a temporary move, where he could play more regularly.
However, the Gunners priced him out of a move – with no suitors able to afford the deal and feel it was viable.
Arsenal apparently were demanding that any interested club paid half of Nelson’s wages, alongside a considerable loan fee.
The youngster’s failure to secure a move looks a blow for his own development now, though.

Nelson may be handed some fleeting chances in Arteta’s first-team before now and the end of the campaign, but it is difficult to see where he fits in on a regular basis.
Arsenal have started to click into gear in an attacking sense, and the likes of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Gabriel Martinelli, Willian and Nicolas Pepe all seem to be ahead of Nelson as wing options.
