Dayot Upamecano is Arsenal’s dream signing this summer, according to Bleacher Report.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is eager to land a ‘top level’ centre-back in the coming weeks, although his budgetary restrictions make any dealings difficult.
Although Upamecano is said to be right at the top of Arsenal’s wishlist, the RB Leipzig star is currently out of their price range.
Upamecano’s release clause stands at £54 million, which means Arsenal need to hope Leipzig would be open to making a swap deal.
Swap deal options?
With Leipzig generally only targeting young players, it is difficult to see who Arsenal could offer the Bundesliga side in order to get money off.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith-Rowe, who spent time at Leipzig on loan earlier in his career, could be potential options, but any deal involving the trio has to be considered unlikely.
Arsenal, therefore, may have to look at other cheaper targets – even though Arteta is dreaming of Upamecano’s arrival to tighten up his backline next term.
