According to The Mirror, Arsenal are now unlikely to sign Norwich City star Emiliano Buendia due to a lack of funds.

It’s instead suggested that a short-term loan move for Real Madrid’s Isco or Paris Saint-Germain’s Julian Draxler may instead materialise.

Norwich want £40million for Buendia this month, and Arsenal simply don’t have that kind of cash to spend right now.

The Independent did note on Monday that a part-exchange deal involving Reiss Nelson of Joe Willock could be on the cards, but that seemingly won’t happen now.

Rather than sign a long-term option this month, Arsenal will instead push for a short-term loanee like Isco of Draxler.

Neither of those big-name players are all that important at their clubs right now, and may welcome moves to Arsenal to get themselves playing again ahead of the January window.

Draxler has played just nine times in all competitions this season, whilst Isco has only managed 11 in a frustrating season under Zinedine Zidane.

Maybe Buendia is a name Arsenal can consider again in the summer, but it seems that Mikel Arteta just doesn’t have the funds to secure the Argentinian’s signature this month – and must now plan accordingly.
