Arsenal’s players had grown frustrated with Unai Emery’s treatment of Matteo Guendouzi, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsenal’s squad apparently felt that Guendouzi got away with too much under their former manager, but Mikel Arteta has been a real disciplinarian since taking charge.

Arteta has ensured that no Arsenal players have stepped out of line, even though that has cost Guendouzi his place in the team.

The £30 million-rated French youngster (France Football) has been ostracised in recent weeks, after an incident at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Guendouzi put in a ill-disciplined display and then was accused by Brighton striker Neal Maupay of being arrogant on the pitch.

That was seemingly the final straw for Arteta, who now looks set to sell the Arsenal man this summer.

And the Gunners players are said to be impressed by Arteta’s ruthless approach, as they have wanted a more authoritarian style of management for some time now.
