Ozil is now seemingly on the verge of an exit from Arsenal, and influential members of the squad apparently feel that Arteta is making the right move.
Selling Ozil, who was once hailed as ‘phenomenal’ by Jose Mourinho (Guardian), has been a controversial move for the Gunners, with supporters often divided over the issue.
On the face of it, Ozil’s creativity and skill could improve Arsenal’s attacking play.
However, his lack of ability to press and work means that he doesn’t suit Arteta’s system, and it seems that the Spaniard feels that selling him is now the best course of action.
Arsenal’s squad are backing their manager in that belief, with Ozil’s time at the Emirates Stadium surely now coming to an end.
Ozil is thought to be attracting the attentions of DC United and Fenerbahce currently.
