The Arsenal man will only miss up to two weeks, according to reports in France.
L’Equipe have reported that Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin could be back in action within two weeks.
The 25-year-old came off injured after half-an-hour of Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday.
The Frenchman, who encountered the problem by blocking an N’Golo Kante effort, suffered a knee injury which, according to The Mail, was set to sideline him for months.
But reports from France indicate that the problem is less serious than first feared as L’Equipe report that he could only miss a “fortnight”.
Coquelin has been a major player for the Gunners so far this season and, if true, it is certainly good news for manager Arsene Wenger.
Such is Coquelin’s form, he has kept £35 million man Granit Xhaka on the bench for the most part, though the Swiss will hope to use his French counterpart’s absence as a way in which to endear himself to Wenger.
The 23-year-old was brilliant on Saturday after replacing Coquelin for the final hour, and he’ll be hopeful that he can stay in the first XI even when his team-mate returns.
The North Londoners sit third in the Premier League table after winning 13 points from a possible thus far.
