West Ham United have reportedly failed in a move for Arsenal’s Francis Coquelin.

According to RMC Sport, Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin has snubbed a move to West Ham United in order to sign for Valencia during this month’s transfer window.
Coquelin, 26, joined Arsenal from Stade Lavallois in his native France back in 2008, but he only emerged as a first-team regular for the Gunners after loan spells with Lorient, Freiburg and Charlton Athletic.

The holding midfielder now has more than 150 appearances to his name for Arsenal, and has largely been a fixture of the Arsenal first-team under Arsene Wenger in recent years.
However, Coquelin has started just one Premier League game this season, and he now looks set to leave Arsenal this month, as RMC Sport report that he has agreed a deal to join Spanish side Valencia.
It’s claimed that Coquelin will sign a four-and-a-half year deal with Valencia once negotiations are finalised between the two clubs, and it’s even added that he rejected a move to West Ham in order to join Valencia.

The Hammers are desperately searching for a new midfielder this month, and reports earlier this week had suggested that Coquelin had emerged as a top target for manager David Moyes.
However, Coquelin has seemingly snubbed West Ham and staying in London in order to head to Spain, leaving Moyes and co to go back to the drawing board in their search for a new central midfielder.
