Arsenal are willing to sell Folarin Balogun in the January transfer window, according to AllNigeriaSoccer.
Although Arsenal prefer to keep the 19-year-old striker, given that he is out of contract at the end of the season and could leave on a free, the North London club are willing to cash in on him now, according to the report.
It has been further added that the Gunners do not plan to include the teenager in the first-team squad if he does not put pen to paper on a new deal.
Sell Folarin Balogun now?
Balogun is rated highly at Arsenal and was described by star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a “very, very talented” player who “works a lot and is a humble guy” in Football.London in November 2020, as covered by HITC Sport here,
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta himself told Football.London in December 2020 that he wants the teenager to sign a new deal and commit his long-term future to the Premier League club.
However, if the youngster does not want to sign a new contract, then it would make sense for Arsenal to cash in on him now instead of keeping him until the summer of 2021, especially if he is not going to do much of note in the first team.
According to WhoScored, the teenager has scored two goals and provided one assist in four substitute appearances in the Europa League and has played once in the EFL Cup this season.
