Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are willing to pay £35 million for Chelsea target and Leeds United winger Raphinha in the summer transfer window, according to The Times.

The report has claimed that Arsenal made a bid of £35 million for Leeds winger Raphinha last week.

Leeds turned it down.

The Times have reported that Chelsea have a £60 million agreement with Leeds over the signing of the Brazil international winger, with Barcelona also willing to pay up to £60 million for the Leeds star.

Arsenal to miss out on Chelsea target Raphinha

In our opinion, Arsenal will miss out on the signing of Leeds United winger Raphinha to Chelsea – or Barcelona – if they do not increase their offer significantly.

There is no way that the Gunners would be able to sign the 25-year-old – described as “unbelievable” by his Leeds teammate Kevin Phillips on the club’s YouTube channel in May 2022 – for £35 million when Chelsea and Barcelona are willing to pay up to £60 million.

There is simply no way.

Now, of course, Raphinha himself may not be too keen on a move to Arsenal with offers from Chelsea and Barcelona on the table for him.

Barcelona and Chelsea are massive clubs and global brands who regularly win major trophies, while Arsenal will not even play in the UEFA Champions League next season.
