According to Star Gazetesi, Arsenal will open talks with Galatasaray over a deal for Tottenham target Kerem Akturkoglu at the end of the season.
What’s the story?
Well, the Turkish news outlet believe the Gunners are ready to ‘open their pursestrings’ and bring the 23-year-old to the Premier League.
Star Gazetesi believe Galatasaray are demanding €20m (£17m) for the Turkey international, who is also wanted by Atlético Madrid, Lyon and VfL Wolfsburg.
Last December, Akturkoglu signed a long-term contract until June 2026, hence why his valuation is a fairly high one.
So far this season, the youngster has enjoyed a stunning campaign, scoring 11 goals in 46 appearances, while also providing ten assists.
The left-winger has been a sensation in Turkey, and seems to be a huge talent who Mikel Arteta would love to get his hands on.
Kerem Akturkoglu should choose Arsenal over Tottenham
In our view, Akturkoglu has a better chance at succeeding in the Premier League by choosing Arsenal over Tottenham.
At the Emirates Stadium, there seems to be much more emphasis on young players than at Spurs under Antonio Conte.
Akturkoglu should take interest in the fact Under-23 gems such as Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe have shone under Arteta, as he could do the same with the help of the Spaniard.
Conte isn’t known for working closely with young players, while, if he joined Spurs, he’d also have to compete with Heung-min Son on the left flank.
Therefore, if we were Akturkoglu, we’d definitely choose Arsenal over Tottenham – in our view, it’s a no brainer.
