According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal had agreed on a deal to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan this summer before Manchester United paid £7 million extra to secure his signature.
The midfielder joined the Red Devils in the summer transfer window as they paid £26.3 million for his services, according to Sky Sports.
It has not been a happy time for him in Manchester, though, as he has found himself out of Jose Mourinho’s team, managing just 104 minutes of action in the Premier League so far.

It is an unhappy situation for him and it turns out he could have ended up somewhere else in the Premier League.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal had agreed on a deal to take him to the Emirates this summer.
The Gunners had long been linked with his signature and it seems this summer they were very close to securing it this time around.

However, according to the newspaper, before they could get the deal over the line Manchester United offer £7 million more to make the Dortmund man their third signing of the transfer window.
The switch has so far proved to be a disastrous one and both the player and Arsenal must now be wondering what could have been.
