Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing the 20-year-old starlet

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is interested in signing Nice midfielder Vincent Koziello, according to Le10 Sport.

Wenger celebrated 20 years as Gunners boss recently, and so much of his reign is littered with examples of how the 66-year-old nurtured young players and helped them develop into a fine footballers afterwards.

This apparent skill has failed the Frenchman in recent years as he has turned his attention to sign tried-and-tested talent rather than unknown quantities for the most part.

But Le10 Sport report that Wenger is interested in signing Nice starlet Koziello – a move which would indicate that the veteran manager is returning to the principles which served him well for so long in North London.

The transfer window does not open again until January, but a midfielder may not be high on Wenger’s list of priorities.

He is so well stocked in that area that Arsenal allowed Jack Wilshere to join Bournemouth on a season-long loan back in August.

Francis Coquelin, Granit Xhaka, Santi Cazorla, Mohamed Elneny and Aaron Ramsey are a few of the options Wenger has for centre-midfield at the moment.

And Koziello, 20, may struggle both in the short and long term to break into such a competitive midfield.
