Arsenal are keen to speak to John Stones about the possibility of moving to the Emirates Stadium in January, EuroSport claim.
The Manchester City defender has suffered from limited game time this season, following the arrival of Ruben Dias, and Arsenal have now put him on their list of targets to sign in the new year.
The Gunners have apparently asked City to inform them if Stones, who Pep Guardiola called ‘incredible’ earlier this season (Tribal Football), becomes available as they would like to launch a bid.
Stones has previously wanted to stay and fight for his place in the City squad, but with the European Championships on the horizon he may be more keen to move on if the opportunity arises in the new year, as he has been dropped from the England squad recently.
If Stones was to join Arsenal he would only serve to increase Mikel Arteta’s options further at the back.
Arsenal have a whole host of central defensive possibilities, but question marks linger over the quality of many of the Gunners’ players in that position.

If Stones was brought to North London it seems most likely he would start alongside Gabriel, and that could have the potential to be a very promising partnership.
Gabriel has proven to be aerially dominant this season and very strong in the tackle, and he could compliment Stones, who is so comfortable in possession, excellently.
