According to Far Post in Zambia, Arsenal and Liverpool are all interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg attacker Patson Daka.

It’s claimed that Daka has caught the attention of some of the world’s biggest clubs, with a battle for his signature to come.

Arsenal and Liverpool are thought to be in the mix, as are Manchester United, but it’s Liverpool who are considered ‘prime favourites’ to sign him.

Daka scored twice against Liverpool in a pre-season friendly last week, making an impression in front of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

Add in that ex-Salzburg stars Naby Keita, Sadio Mane and Takumi Minamino are already at Anfield, and a move for Daka does make some sense.

Salzburg develop players in a system and style somewhat similar to Liverpool’s, preparing them well for life under Klopp, and Daka could be the next in line.

Arsenal may be in the hunt for a new striker with Alexandre Lacazette’s future unclear, and Daka’s record in Austria will be appealing.

The Zambian talent, 21, hit 27 goals in all competitions for RB Salzburg last season, posting a sensational record whilst terrorising teams with his pace.

It seems unlikely that a move will materialise this summer, but Arsenal and Liverpool may well do battle for him in 2021.
