Arsenal have joined the race to sign West Bromwich Albion defender Nathan Ferguson just five months after he failed a medical at London rivals Crystal Palace, according to Football London.
While the temptation may be to question Palace’s decision to walk away from an £11 million deal which looked all-but done during the January transfer window, the Eagles’s caution was understandable at the time.
During a medical at Selhurst Park, Palace uncovered a knee problem that convinced them to back out of an agreement to sign Ferguson from West Brom.
And when you consider that the right-back would then miss the next eight Baggies fixtures between February and April, it seemed that a difficult call had been justified.
But, just five months on, that lengthy spell on the sidelines has not put off some top -flight rivals from expressing an interest – especially with Ferguson set to become a free agent at the end of June.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked for some time but they are not the only North London giant interested in a 19-year-old who only made his West Brom debut back in August.
Football London claims that Arsenal have thrown their hat into the ring.
With funds tight at the Emirates, free agents and bargain signings will be the order of the day this summer and Ferguson, one of the most talented young full-backs in England, could prove to be an inspired piece of business – if he keeps clear of injuries of course.
The Birmingham-born talent could certainly learn a lot from Mikel Arteta, a coach who prides himself upon defensive organisation and appears to trust unproven youngsters implicitly.
