According to Tema Sport in Bulgaria, Arsenal are interested in signing CSKA Sofia talent Valentin Antov during the January transfer window.
It’s claimed that there is huge interest in Antov, but they only intend to sell for more than €5million (£4.5million) – which they consider to be a ‘really serious offer’.
Arsenal want to sign him, but Roma are also keen, with a move to one of Europe’s top five leagues seemingly on the horizon.
Antov is thought to be a frontrunner for Football of the Year in Bulgaria, with European displays against Basel and Roma catching the eye.
Antov, 20, has emerged through the CSKA ranks, and remarkably made his first-team debut for the club at the age of just 14, and he even captained the side for 25 minutes in that game.
The youngster has now made 86 appearances for Sofia, and he has picked up two goals and one assist in 26 appearances this season whilst serving as full-time captain since August.

Primarily a centre back or holding midfielder, Antov is strong and physical, protecting his back four or marshalling strikers at the back.
That kind of versatility may be appealing to Arsenal, whilst Edu would have to negotiate with Alan Pardew about a deal, as the Englishman currently serves as CSKA’s technical director.
