According to Calciomercato, Arsenal are hoping to sign Marc Roca for €25 million (£22.43 million) despite his release clause at Espanyol being €40 million (£35.89 million).

It has been reported by the Italian news outlet, as translated and transcribed by Sempre Milan, that AC Milan and Arsenal are interested in signing Roca from Espanyol in the summer transfer window.

Stats

According to WhoScored, Roca has made 25 appearances in La Liga for Espanyol so far this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the process.

The 23-year-old midfielder has also made two starts and one substitute appearance in the Europa League for the Spanish club this campaign, according to WhoScored.

During the 2018-29 campaign, the youngster scored one goal and provided two assists in 35 league games for Espanyol, according to WhoScored.

Would Arsenal’s plan work?

While Arsenal may be hoping to sign Roca for €25 million (£22.43 million), it is hard to see Espanyol sell him for less than his release clause.

The release clause of €40 million (£35.89 million) is not really too high in the footballing world, and with Milan also interested in the midfielder, the Spanish club will know that there could be a bidding war.
