According to Sport, Thomas Vermaelen is holding out for a return to Arsenal, and they are keen to sign him.
The defender looks set to leave Barcelona this summer after making just 11 appearances since arriving at the club in 2014.
He is far down the pecking order at the club, something that has not been helped by the arrival of defenders Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne in this summer transfer window.

He is keen on making a return to former club Arsenal, where he made 110 appearances over five seasons before his move to the Nou Camp.
And according to Sport, they also report that the Gunners are equally keen on making a move for their former star.

Arsene Wenger’s side only have three centre backs in the squad at present and may be without Laurent Koscielny for the start of the season after he reached the final of Euro 2016 with France.
A switch could be completed quickly too, with the newspaper claiming that Barcelona are keen to get the deal done before the start of their pre-season training next week.
