According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are hoping to get a deal done for Runar Runarsson in time to face West Ham United.
It’s claimed that Arsenal want a deal for Runarsson done ‘as soon as possible’ having confirmed the exit of Emiliano Martinez earlier today.
That means Arsenal want to get Runarsson sign up before the game with West Ham on Saturday afternoon.
Arsenal would therefore have to have a deal done by midday on Friday, in order to be registered in time for the game.
DV in Runarsson’s native Iceland reported on Monday evening that Runarsson had agreed a five-year deal and even undergone a medical with the Gunners.
That seems to have been slightly premature, but the 25-year-old should still be making his move to North London soon.

The price tag involved will allegedly be just £1.5million, with Arsenal going for a cheap backup to Bernd Leno having pocketed £20million for Martinez.
His profile doesn’t look all that great; he played just 13 league games last season, none so far this term, and has just five caps for Iceland.
Arsenal goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana worked with Runarsson at FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark though, meaning he has one big fan at the Emirates Stadium already – and that is likely driving Arsenal’s rush to get a deal done, with the Gunners rather having him on the bench against West Ham than Matt Macey.
