Arsenal reportedly want Hull City ace Jarrod Bowen.

Jarrod Bowen of Hull City celebrates scoring a goal at KCOM Stadium on February 26, 2019 in Hull, England.

According to The Sun, Arsenal have identified Hull City star Jarrod Bowen as an alternative target to Crystal Palace ace Wilfried Zaha.

The Gunners are struggling to afford Zaha due to his £80million price tag, and that means Unai Emery may have to look elsewhere for a new winger.

Their search seems to have taken to the Championship, with Hull star Bowen on the radar after a stunning 22-goal season with the Tigers last term.

It’s suggested that Bowen would cost around £12million, which seems a little on the low side, as Hull would surely be in a position to demand around £15million to £20million after such a superb campaign.

Add in that Bowen isn’t anything like Zaha in terms of playstyle, and identifying him as an alternative target seems somewhat strange, but it would give them a talented young Englishman.

This means Bowen is once again being eyed up by a North London club, as Tottenham wanting him in January before deciding against a move according to Football.London.

Whilst seeing a recent target join Arsenal would be a blow, Tottenham shouldn’t be looking to get back into the race for Bowen in order to beat the Gunners.

Spurs have just added Jack Clarke to their long-term plans, and adding another young winger who will need time to adjust wouldn’t really make sense for Tottenham.

If another winger is to join Tottenham this summer, it should be a player who can instantly impress, somebody like Steven Bergwijn or even Zaha himself, rather than Bowen – and that should mean that Arsenal don’t have to take on their bitter rivals for the 22-year-old.
