According to The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race to sign Lyon defender Joachim Andersen this summer.
It’s stated that Arsenal are ready to compete for Andersen and actually view him as the ideal replacement for David Luiz this summer.
Luiz is out of contract this summer, and Arsenal want Andersen to join them and slot into his role as a right-sided centre back.
However, it’s North London rivals Tottenham are who in ‘pole position’ to sign Andersen at the end of the season.
Spurs have held talks over a deal for Andersen according to BT in Denmark, so it’s no shock that they’re at the head of the queue.
Tottenham do though need to offload some players first, given that Ryan Mason has five centre backs to choose from in Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez, Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga.

That could give Arsenal a chance to sneak in and hijack the move, as they already know that Luiz is leaving this summer.
Andersen, 24, has impressed on loan at Fulham this season despite their relegation from the Premier League, emerging as a real leader in the back line.
Lyon are expected to sell for around £20million, but they may now be hoping for something of a bidding war between Spurs and Arsenal, who won’t want to lose out to each other.
