According to Sport Mediaset, Liverpool have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Paulo Dybala, after Arsenal missed out on Dusan Vlahovic.

What’s the story?

Well, this is great news for Liverpool, but Arsenal will be devastated.

According to Sport Mediaset, Vlahovic will now be swapping Fiorentina for Juventus, despite Arsenal pushing to sign the Serbian before deadline day (The Athletic).

Interestingly, the report claims that this will push Dybala closer to the Allianz Stadium exit door.

The £222,000-a-week man’s contract ends in June, and he has been unhappy with the offers from Juventus so far.

Now, Sport Mediaset state that Juventus have no intention of spending over the odds to keep Dybala in Turin, as Vlahovic is arriving.

It is said that the 31-cap Argentina international would be open to joining a Premier League side, with Liverpool monitoring the situation.

Arsenal loss is Liverpool gain

When Arsenal missed out on Vlahovic to Juventus, the Gunners fans probably didn’t think the transfer saga could get any worse.

Now, it could actually end up strengthening a Premier League rival in Liverpool, which would add salt to the wounds for Arsenal.

In our view, the Reds would go up a gear if Jürgen Klopp managed to bring Dybala to Anfield.

The 28-year-old is one of the best forwards in Europe, and excels in the No.10 role where Roberto Firmino usually plays.

The prospect of Dybala pulling defenders in, freeing up space for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane to dart into, is a mouthwatering prospect.

So far this season, the South American has scored 11 goals in 23 appearances, while also providing four assists.

Should Klopp get his hands on him, we’d expect those numbers to soar.
