Spanish newspaper SPORT claim Barcelona will allow Memphis Depay to leave for just £17m – with Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle and West Ham keen. Depay only joined Barcelona last summer on a free.

Indeed, Depay ended a hugely successful stint with Lyon by moving to the Nou Camp on a free – where he linked up with Ronald Koeman. It started well, Depay starting games and scoring goals – but injury kicked in.

The ex-Manchester United man has also suffered somewhat with the change in managers – Xavi replacing Koeman. Xavi has brought in Ferran Torres and PIerre-Emerick Aubameyang, pushing Depay down the order.

He ended the season with stats of 13 goals in 38 games. Given he only signed a two-year deal at Barcelona last summer, his long-term future at the Nou Camp is already in doubt. Premier League clubs want to sign him.

Arsenal and West Ham are said to have opened talks to sign Depay, according to ABC, as per the Express. Tottenham are also interested, while SuperDeporte said in April that Newcastle might chance their arm.

Who needs Depay most? Realistically, Depay will only be joining a club where he can play regularly – it is the reason he will be leaving Barca this summer, if he does. So where does the Old Trafford flop go?

A move to Tottenham would see him play as back-up to Harry Kane – but they do have Champions League football. Tempting. West Ham are in the Conference League, but he would start. Newcastle have the cash.

Perhaps something that would appeal to Barca’s no.9 Depay. But his best move is to Arsenal, given they lack a striker and are in the Europa League. He would start, and forefront their bid to finish in fourth next season.
