CalcioMercato report that Arsenal and Tottenham want to sign RB Leipzig left-back Angelino – just one season after he joined the German side permanently from Manchester City. He has starred in the Bundesliga.
Angelino, 25, joined Leipzig on loan in January 2020 and having spent 18 months at the club temporarily, a £16million (Goal) permanent deal was struck. He has been brilliant in Germany, clocking up 83 appearances.
The Spaniard has produced 34 goal involvements in that time – scoring 10 goals and laying on 24 assists. Little surprise, then, that Angelino is being linked with a return to the Premier League. Arsenal and Spurs are keen.
CalcioMercato report that both London sides want the left-back – but so do Barcelona, who want a long-term replacement for Jordi Alba. It comes after Sergio Reguilon and Kieran Tierney were both linked with Real Madrid.
Tottenham, Arsenal or Barcelona for Leipzig defender Angelino?
Angelino is a top, top left-back. His form in the Bundesliga is quite sensational and he certainly showed signs of said form at Manchester City. In 15 games for City, he laid on three assists when given the chance.
It is unclear how much Angelino is worth now, though Leipzig are hardly going to sell on the cheap – given he has a contract until June 2025. But a move to London might be tempting for the Spain Under-21 international.
That is because, he may feel he has unfinished Premier League business after failing to break into the Manchester City side on a regular basis.
