The Daily Express claim Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle and West Ham scouts were all in attendance to watch Benfica striker Darwin Nunez score against Liverpool on Tuesday night – as Jurgen Klopp’s side won 3-1.

Nunez, 22, has been incredible for Benfica this season. The Uruguay international now has 28 goals in 35 games for his club – five of which have come in nine Champions League outings. He is in red-hot form.

90Min recently reported that a whole host of Premier League clubs are looking at Nunez – with Manchester United leading the way, after West Ham failed with a January offer. Scouts of both were in attendance on Tuesday.

The Express say Manchester City also had scouts watching Nunez while they beat Atletico Madrid at the Etihad. Tottenham, Arsenal and Newcastle also sent their talent spotters to Portugal. 90Min say Benfica want £65m.

Nunez for £65m: Which club best suits Benfica striker this summer?

Arsenal desperately need a striker with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah looking likely to go on a free. Champions League or Europa League, The Emirates seems perfect for Nunez – with Arsenal able to meet his fee.

The Athletic report that Jorge Mendes has spoken to Nunez about replacing Harry Kane at Tottenham – but if Spurs get fourth, would Kane leave Spurs? Unlikely. Newcastle have the cash, but lack European football.

West Ham need competition for Michail Antonio and Nunez’s physicality suits the Hammers – as proven by their January approach. Europa League football looks a possibility, so Arsenal or West Ham look the likeliest moves.
