According to Calciomercato, Arsenal and Tottenham have made contact with Inter Milan over a deal for Martin Satriano.

What’s the story?

Well, Mikel Arteta and Antonio Conte aren’t the only ones interested in the 21-year-old gem.

Chelsea are also said to be keen on a deal for Satriano, who was a target for Nottingham Forest at the start of 2022.

Calciomercato believe Arsenal and Tottenham have asked Inter Milan for information about the Uruguayan’s availability, as have Serie A side Empoli.

Satriano spent last season on loan in France with Stade Brestois 29, where he scored five goals in 23 appearances while also providing one assist.

Calciomercato add that the South American will make a decision on his future once he returns from his holidays, when he will then sit down with Inter Milan to discuss his options.

Crucially, Inter Milan are keen to sign Kristjan Asllani, so Satriano could be used as a makeweight in that deal.

Arsenal & Tottenham battling for a future star

In our view, Satriano wouldn’t be arriving in north London with expectations of making an immediate impact on the first-team, at Arsenal or Tottenham.

In our view, the striker is being eyed as one for the future, unless Arteta and Conte believe his meagre tally of five goals last season shows he can perform in the Premier League – it would be a huge surprise if he made an immediate impact.

Having said that, Satriano certainly seems to be a big prospect, who has been compared to some of the best strikers Europe has ever seen.

The Inter Milan wonderkid has been likened to Karim Benzema, as well as Luis Suarez and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

If he goes on to become even 50% as good as these names, then Arsenal and Tottenham should try their hardest to secure his signature – only time will tell what happens.
