Football website 90Min claim Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are all considering offers to sign Liverpool ace Naby Keita and are keeping tabs on the star’s contract talks at Anfield – with a view to landing Keita on a free transfer.

Keita, 27, is out of contract at the end of the season with his four-year stint at Anfield not going to plan. A mixture of injury, and heavy midfield competition, has prevented Keita from ever garnering any momentum in a Liverpool shirt.

Indeed, he has managed just 117 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side since joining more than four years ago. It is unlikely then, that he will be putting pen to paper on a new deal at Liverpool. He is not short of potential suitors.

The report claims Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are all keeping tabs and contemplating a free transfer. They will not be able to approach Keita until the end of May, with only non-English sides able to move from January 1.

That comes under the Bosman ruling. But Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea could make a bid in January – a potential cut-price offer to keep the Guinea star. It all depends on whether Keita will pen his signature on a new Liverpool deal.

Keita is a good player, but he needs to join a club where he is first choice. Being a rotational option at Liverpool has not helped. Inconsistent game time might even have contributed to the ex-Leipzig star’s proneness to injury.

Indeed, this season, a hamstring injury has prevented Keita from featuring since the Community Shield. In that game, he only came on as a late substitute. The report says German, French, Italian and Spanish clubs also want to sign Keita.

Clubs from those countries can approach Keita on a pre-contract. But the midfielder may want to sign with a Premier League club – however, he has to make sure it is the right club. A club where he starts more often than not.
