According to ESPN, Arsenal will allow goalkeeper Matt Macey to leave the club in the January transfer window.
The Gunners signed a new goalkeeper over the summer, as Runar Runarsson joined the club from Dijon as a replacement for Emiliano Marinez.
Arsenal’s goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana worked with Runarsson at FC Nordsjaelland, so the move was no great surprise, though it means Macey is sidelined.
The 26-year-old is merely third-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal, and it’s now claimed that the Gunners will allow Macey to go in next month’s transfer window.
Macey told The Telegraph in September that he wants to leave Arsenal, but no deal materialised, meaning he has been stuck at the Emirates Stadium not playing.
Signed from Bristol Rovers in 2013, Macey was tipped for a bright future and even earned praise from Arsene Wenger in 2017.

However, he has made just two first-team appearances for Arsenal, and after loan spells at Accrington Stanley, Luton Town and Plymouth Argyle failed to take him any close to first-team football, an exit now seems inevitable.
Selling Macey would surely see Estonian youngster Karl Hein emerge as third-choice stopper behind Runarsson and Bernd Leno, and Macey will surely be able to land a League One or even Championship move if he does want to go.
