The Trabzonspor youngster is reportedly attracting attention from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal are set to challenge bitter rivals Tottenham for the signature of highly-rated Turkish youngster Abdulkadir Omur, according to Turkish-Football.
The 18-year-old is one of the most highly-coveted young players in European football, after impressing for Trabzonspor this season, chipping in with two goals and four assists in 20 Super Lig outings thus far.
Turkish-Football claim that the Gunners and Spurs have sent scouts to watch Omur in action recently, with a €25 million (£22.3 million) deal being mooted, and they have both been impressed with their findings.
The 18-year-old can play anywhere across midfield, although his best position is out wide on the right flank.
He is quick, possesses exceptional technical ability, and is at the perfect age to be moulded into a real elite performer.
Which club would be the best choice for Omur, though?
The obvious answer to that question is Tottenham.
Mauricio Pochettino is renowned for developing young talent at Spurs, whilst Arsene Wenger’s reign at Arsenal is seemingly coming close to an end.
The Lilywhites are a vibrant young side, and Omur would fit right in at Tottenham.
He would obviously have to compete with the likes of Lucas Moura, Heung-min Son and Erik Lamela on the right flank, but he would be a signing for the future rather than the here and now, so there is plenty of time for him to reach his potential.
For the reported price of just £22 million, he would be a steal for Spurs, and his potential availability represents an opportunity that they should not pass up.
