Arsenal are reportedly ready to offer Bukayo Saka a new contract worth £200,000 a week which could see the 21-year-old superstar extend his deal at the club to 2026.

According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners are confident that they can tie the England international down to a new contract with Saka’s current deal set to expire in 2024, with the youngster still one of the club’s lowest-paid players on the basis of the package the attacker signed back in 2020.

Saka has once again been one of Arsenal’s best players this season with the winger scoring one and assisting four in eight Premier League games as Mikel Arteta’s side sit top of the Premier League. As per the report, William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli are also set to be handed new contracts for their efforts this campaign.

Arsenal’s young squad are hitting on all cylinders this campaign with new signings Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko slotting in perfectly into the starting XI. And whilst Saka’s performance this campaign have been somewhat different to his displays last year, there’s no denying that the winger is still one of the club’s most important players.

Indeed, the evolution of Granit Xhaka to play a more advanced role has seen the Swiss international, as well as Martin Odegaard, become more attacking threats through central zones, meaning Saka does more work behind the scenes in the build-up to chances rather than being the finisher like the youngster was last season.

Whilst this could result in fewer goals for Saka, there’s no denying that the overall impact has been huge, and Arsenal handing the attacker a new contract worth £200,000-a-week is a good long-term move from the Gunners given how important the forward is for Arteta’s long-term plans.

Saka’s new Arsenal contract will be bigger than any signing made next year

Saka has developed into one of the best attackers in the Premier League and one of the best young prospects in world football, and for Arsenal, singing the winger down to a new contract would arguably be bigger than any signing the club make in 2023.

After all, Saka’s future has been a huge talking point for many fans over the past 12 months, and the keeping the winger in north London ahead of what is to come will be huge for Arteta’s plan to get Arsenal back to the UEFA Champions League and the top of English football.
