Arsenal are reportedly set to step up their pursuit of Paulo Dybala.
The Argentina is being linked with a summer transfer to Arsenal, among other Premier League clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.
It was reported by FC Inter News last weekend that the Juventus attacker wasn’t too keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium.
However, Tutto Juve are now reporting that the Gunners are willing to make an offer for the £222,000-a-week striker, with Atletico Madrid also interested in the South American.
The report adds that at the moment, Arsenal, Atletico and Inter are the only clubs considering offers.
More are sure to come, though.
That’s because the 28-year-old is out of contract in Turin this summer and therefore he’ll be available on a Bosman.
There won’t be many more high-profile free transfer departures in European football this summer, hence why Arsenal and other interested parties can expect a lot more competition over the coming weeks and months.
The North Londoners absolutely need someone like Dybala.
Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are both set to leave the Emirates in June upon the expiration of their contracts, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang already culled.
Folarin Balogun, on loan at Middlesbrough at the moment, could be Arsenal’s only recognised number nine in a couple months – and he’s only 20.
That sums up Mikel Arteta and Edu’s need for additional hitmen and time will tell whether the Dybala stuff has substance.
