According to BT, Arsenal will loan out William Saliba to the Championship with Brentford, Watford and Norwich City all keen on bringing him in.

The talented central defender missed out on a deadline day move to Saint Etienne.

With the international window now closes, Arsenal still have the opportunity to loan Saliba out to an EFL club with the domestic window open until Friday October 16.

BT claim the Gunners will take up this option. However, the North London club are considering their options and being thorough in their search for Saliba’s ideal destination.

The editorial says Arsenal will decide on Saliba’s loan club pointing to key factors such as location, the Championship club’s playing style and the manager.

It appears Arsenal want Saliba to continue playing a brand of football which is in line with the Gunners’ own playing style, providing a better transition to the first team.

Brentford, Norwich and Watford are keen. However, the Canaries are based further away and the Hornets often play a more direct style while possessing a large squad.

Of the three clubs in question, Brentford may be Arsenal’s number one choice.

The Bees reached the Championship playoff final last term playing an attractive, passing style while manager Thomas Frank is a former Denmark international youth team coach.

Saliba, 19, has an abundance of potential, but he will need regular playing time.

Arsenal strengthened their defence with Gabriel Magalhaes joining in the summer and they will see Saliba as his ideal long-term partner at the Emirates Stadium.
