According to The Telegraph, Arsenal are considering a move to sign Brighton star, Moises Caicedo.
The Ecuadorian international has had a breakout season for the Seagulls, catching the attention of several top clubs, including Liverpool and Chelsea.
The youngster has made a total of 18 league appearances for Brighton this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist, but, as ever, those stats don’t tell the story.
His technical ability and workrate have been second-to-none this term, hence why he’s attracting so much interest.
With Chelsea having recently submitted a £55m bid for the player, it’s clear that other top clubs are also taking notice of ‘incredible’ player’s talent. However, it’s now reported that Arsenal are also in the race, as they look to strengthen their midfield options.
Arsenal are currently top of the league, but Manchester City are breathing down their neck, and manager Mikel Arteta will be looking to add depth to his team in order to maintain their position and push for their first league title in 19 years.
In addition to Caicedo, Arsenal have also been linked with West Ham United’s Declan Rice as another midfield option for the summer. However, according to this report a deal for Cacedo is not expected to impact the Gunners’ interest in Rice.

However, with Caicedo being younger and potentially having higher potential than Rice, it may be the case that the South American is actually a better opton for the Gunners.
Caicedo seems to be gearing up for a move away from the Amex too. He’s actually just changed agents which may indicate that he’ll be making a transfer in the near future.
Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time that Arsenal have done business with Brighton as of late, they’ve just signed Leandro Trossard from Roberto De Zerbi’s side, while Ben White also arrived last summer.
Chelsea already offering £55m, it remains to be seen if Arsenal will be able to secure this player’s signature ahead of the Blues. After all, Chelsea did just beat them to Mykhaylo Mudryk.
However, with the Gunners currently top of the league, a move to the Emirates could be more alluring than a move to Stamford Bridge.
With Manchester City threatening to ruin Arsenal’s title party, every move in the transfer market will be crucial for the Gunners, and landing Caicedo would be a huge coup.
