According to the Times, Arsenal have told Arsene Wenger he can spend more than £100 million to get the signings he needs this summer.
The Gunners were expected to be busy this summer as they sought to bounce back from their disappointing title collapse last season.
That has not proven to be the case though, with Granit Xhaka the only major arrival at the club so far.

That has frustrated the club’s fans, who have had to watch the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City both strengthening with big money purchases.
And according to the Times, the Arsenal board are keen to fix that and have given Wenger permission to spend what he likes.

They report that the Gunners had planned to cap their summer spending at £100 million, but instead have accepted they may have to spend more than another £70 million to get the men their side needs.
It now remains to be seen who they could target, with moves for striker Alexandre Lacazette and defender Shkrodan Mustafi thought to be priorities for the club before the end of the window.
