Club Brugge attacker Noa Lang is now set to stay in Belgium despite the player pushing for a move this summer amid interest from the likes of Arsenal in the 23-year-old attacker.
According to Het Nieuwsblad, the winger will remain with Brugge for the summer following months of speculation and rumours that Lang was ready to quit the Belgian giants to move to a bigger club in Europe, with Arsenal just one of many sides reportedly interested in the former Ajax academy graduate.
Once branded by Belgian journalist Bart Lagae as ‘better than Pepe’, Lang has been one of Europe’s outstanding attackers in the past 12 months from outside the top-five leagues, yet with Arsenal reportedly in talks to sign Pedro Neto from Wolves, it appears that the winger staying with Brugge is a wise decision from the Dutch international.
With Brugge also in the UEFA Champions League for another season, Lang has the potential to win suitors ahead of the January transfer window, with the attacker also in strong contention to make Louis van Gaal’s Holland squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Indeed, whilst Lang’s decision to stay with Brugge is quite a shock, the attacker could actually be making quite a smart choice remaining in Belgium given how many big opportunities are coming up in the next few months if he is to remain at a club where he is a guaranteed starter.
The Champions League and World Cup are two of the biggest stages in sport, and for Lang to be potentially competing in both means the winger has the capacity to win a huge move in 2023 by deciding to stay with Brugge for a few more months.
Decision for Lang to stay with Brugge could define his career

With Arsenal moving on to other targets such as Neto, Lang winning a big move this summer is as unlikely it has ever been, yet the decision to stay at Brugge could be one that unravels into a stroke of genius for the forward if he can find his form in the coming months ahead of the January window.
After all, clubs are always tempted to spend big on in-form players after a major tournament, and if Lang impresses in Qatar for the Netherlands, the Arsenal target could win his move that he has been dreaming about for some time this January.
