Arsenal are in the market for Sheffield United’s Sander Berge – and he could end up facing the Gunners next month.
The Gunners are looking to add another midfielder this summer, and recent reports have suggested that Berge is a top target for Mikel Arteta and co.
The Sheffield Star claim that an agent working on the behalf of Arteta has been in contact over a potential summer deal to sign Berge.
Arsenal have his former Genk boss Albert Stuivenberg on Arteta’s coaching staff, and that could be a secret weapon for the Gunners as they seek to win the race.
Berge, 23, has huge potential and has shown flashes of his quality with the Blades, but has been missing since picking up a torn hamstring back in December.
Now though, Sky Sports claim that Berge is fighting back and is looking to return inside the next fortnight – meaning he could manage to play against Arsenal.

That’s an ambitious goal given that the Blades host Arsenal a week on Sunday, but hopes have been raised by this latest update.
Berge would no doubt love to put on a show against his potential suitors, and prove that he is worth splashing the cash on this summer, but it will be a race against time to be fit.
