According to Alfredo Pedulla, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has an agreement to join Juventus next summer.
This is despite a real push from Arsenal to sign the Serbian midfielder from Lazio.
Indeed, the Gunners have been linked with Milinkovic-Savic for quite some time now, and it was even reported earlier this month by CMW that the north London club were putting together a deal that would have included Albert Sambi Lokonga.
However, despite this swap deal plot, Arsenal seem to have lost this race to Juventus.
Of course, this isn’t the first time in recent history that Juventus have pinched a transfer target from under Arsenal’s noses. In January the Old Lady swooped and took Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina as Arsenal were circling, and it looks like that story is going to be repeated here.
Milinkovic-Savic has been settled in Italy for a long time now, so it’s not all that shocking to see that he wants to remain in Serie A and join the biggest club in that league.
Unfortunately for Arsenal, this mean that they’re going to have to look elsewhere in terms of options to bolster their midfield.
Luckily, links to Youri Tielemans and Palmerias’ Danilo continue too persist, so reinforcements in this area may not be too far away.
The Gunners are desperate to keep up their title charge, and if they are to do so, they will have to bolster their midfield as, right now, they are just one injury to Granit Xhaka or Thomas Partey away from being in serious trouble in that area.
Edu may well have a trick up his sleeve in January, but sadly, Milinkovic-Savic’s mercurial talents won’t be coming to the Premier League anytime soon.
