According to FC Inter 1908, Arsenal have taken the first steps to sign Lautaro Martinez, who is also a target for Tottenham and Liverpool.

What’s the story?

Well, it was Tutto Mercato Web who revealed that Tottenham are keen to sign the Inter Milan forward.

Elsewhere, Calciomercato claimed that Liverpool want the Argentina international, who they view as a long-term replacement for Roberto Firmino.

However, it is Arsenal who have made the first move.

FC Inter 1908 believe the Gunners have taken the first steps to sign Martinez, although they do not specify what these steps are in particular.

In our view, it could mean Arsenal have submitted an enquiry for the £76,000-a-week attacker.

Nevertheless, this is hugely exciting news for Arsenal fans.

Martinez is among the best forwards in Europe – he scored 19 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions last season as Inter Milan won the Serie A title.

Tottenham and Liverpool will be furious if Arsenal sign Lautaro Martinez

If the Gunners get their hands on Martinez, Tottenham and Liverpool will surely be seething.

In Tottenham’s case, Antonio Conte had the South American at the San Siro last season, and he would surely love to be reunited with him in N17.

Therefore, if Arsenal – of all clubs – prevent that reunion from happening, the Italian will not be happy.

In regards to Liverpool, the Reds like to plan ahead and future-proof their side, hence why they have found a Firmino replacement who is six years younger than the Brazilian.

If Jürgen Klopp sees the recruitment team’s plan disrupted by Arsenal, he too will presumably be livid.

Keep an eye on this saga, as there’s still a long way to go until Arsenal secure the signature of Martinez.
