The Gunners have received a big blow ahead of their side’s clash with bitter rivals Spurs on Saturday, with the Telegraph reporting that experienced stopper Petr Cech is likely to miss the game through injury.

The 35-year-old had to be substituted during Arsenal’s 5-1 win over Everton at the Emirates on Saturday, after sustaining a calf injury.

The former Chelsea ‘keeper has been far from his best this season, that is undeniable, but his experience would have been vitally important for the Gunners, when they head to Wembley to take on Tottenham.

The Telegraph claim that Cech is highly likely to miss the North London Derby, with David Ospina set to fill in for the former Czech Republic international.

Will Cech’s potential absence prove costly for the Gunners?

As mentioned earlier, the 35-year-old has been in rather poor form this season, but his experience of playing in huge games cannot be underestimated, and Arsenal fans will hardly be delighted with the prospect of the flakey David Ospina filling in.

Whether it is Cech or Ospina between the sticks at Wembley, it would take a brave man to bet on Arsenal keeping a clean sheet, and they will more than likely have to rely upon their superb front-line, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of heading back to the Emirates with all three points.
