According to the Mirror, Arsenal are struggling in their attempts to find a quality centre back to partner Laurent Koscielny next season.
The Gunners are expected to build this summer after they fell away in the Premier League title race to finish second last season.
They have already brought midfielder Granit Xhaka to the club, paying £30 million plus to Borussia Monchengladbach for the Switzerland star.

A striker is thought to be top of Arsene Wenger’s wish list also given how Olivier Giroud struggled in the second half of the campaign.
It appears that may not be the only position he wants improvement in either, with this latest report claiming that a centre back is also among his targets.

According to the Mirror, Arsenal scouts have been instructed to find a new central defender to partner Laurent Koscielny in the heart of their defence.
Unfortunately though, they are struggling to find the quality player they believe is needed to go straight in to the team alongside the French international.
They like Atletico Madrid’s Lucas Hernandez and Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, although the latter is unlikely to move, with the same report claiming that the Italians have already chased off Chelsea this summer.
