There is a strong shout for Gabriel Martinelli to be classed as the most in-form left-winger in the Premier League this season.

The 21-year old’s displays have been nothing short of electric so far, as his devastating pace, quick feet, excellent movement, and eye for goal have made irresistible to watch this campaign.

Alongside Bukayo Saka, it is next to impossible to single out a better pair of wingers in the country currently.

With the youngster being in the form of his life, it is only natural that many expect him to be a guaranteed member of Brazil’s squad in the upcoming World Cup.

However, a new update has suggested that the tricky wideman is set to miss the plane to Qatar.

According to the latest information provided by journalist Bruno Andrade, Gabriel Martinelli has been excluded from Brazil’s 26-man squad for the showpiece event.

While certain wide players such as the Real Madrid duo of Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo being part of Tite’s ensemble do not come as a surprise, the same cannot be said for the likes of Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison, Manchester United’s Antony and Barcelona’s Raphinha.

For starters, Richarlison is yet to even score a single goal in the Premier League this term. Similarly, Raphinha has flattered to deceive so far during his time at Barcelona, as he has even struggled to come to life whilst operating in his favored right-wing role.

While Antony has adapted to newer surroundings in much more adept fashion, he is still clearly finding his feet at Old Trafford.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Martinelli is arguably one of the mainstays of an Arsenal side that are currently topping the English top-flight.

Ultimately, this could be a blessing in disguise for the versatile forward, who could channel the disappointment into his displays as he hopes to maintain his stellar form till the end of the season.

Gabriel Martinelli can also certainly do so as he gets the chance to rest and recuperate during the Qatar World Cup, while a whole host of his compatriots will have to adapt to the challenges that come with the unprecedented experience of playing tournament football mid-season.
