Arsenal think that they have pulled off a real coup by bringing Willian to the Emirates Stadium, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsenal announced the signing of Willian last week, as they signed the experienced attacker on a three-year deal from Chelsea.

Frank Lampard is said to have told Chelsea’s board that he was desperate to keep Willian, but Arsenal still managed to prise the Brazilian away from Stamford Bridge.

And the Gunners believe that the signing of Willian could turn out to be an excellent one.

Arsenal are paying Willian £100,000-a-week, which they feel is a very fair price to pay for a player of the 31-year-old’s quality.

Willian has proven to be a threat in the Premier League over a number of years, and Mikel Arteta is said to be be fully behind the signing of the former Shakhtar man.

Willian’s arrival at Arsenal certainly does give Arteta more options in the advanced areas.

Arteta has bemoaned Arsenal’s lack of creativity, but Willian should help to provide more cutting edge in the final third.

Willian is capable of playing down either flank, or even in a number 10 role behind the striker, and with so many exciting young talents breaking through at Arsenal currently he could be the perfect role model for them to learn from.
