Cedric Soares is reportedly blowing away Arsenal staff behind the scenes at London Colney.
When Hector Bellerin was loaned to Real Betis, the Portugal international looked set to become Arsenal’s first-choice option at right-back.
But Gunners boss Mikel Arteta brought in Takehiro Tomiyasu and the Japan international has been a revelation.
However, Soares’s enthusiasm hasn’t diminished.
According to ESPN, sources claim that the former Southampton defender is really impressing Arsenal staff at the training ground.
The report claims that Soares’s attitude and willingness to work hard has really made him stand out.
Fringe
He is very much a fringe player under Arteta, it has to be said.
So far this season, Soares, who earns £75,000 per week in North London, has only managed 188 minutes of Premier League football.
He features prominently in other competitions like the League Cup, but it’s the top flight that he’ll want to shine in.
And so long as he continues to impress behind the scenes, the 31-year-old does still have a chance of dislodging Tomiyasu.
