Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud has impressed some onlookers this summer.
According to the Mirror, Arsenal have rejected a number of enquiries for striker Olivier Giroud.
The report claims that the France international has become the subject of heavy interest from a string of clubs since the end of the last season with many contacting the Gunners over his availability.
Giroud has enjoyed a terrific summer on the international stage, scoring three goals at the European Championships as France march on towards a final showdown with Portugal on Sunday.
The 29-year-old is a regular in the French line up in the absence of Karim Benzema, and his qualities as a target man have shone through with Antoine Griezmann profiting from his link-up play.
Giroud is often an underrated figure in the Premier League, largely as a result of his so-called lack of pace and goal scoring record in the big games when it really matters.
But having said that, last term he really stepped up to the plate – such as scoring a hat-trick in a must-win game over Olympiakos in Greece – and his importance is usually evident during his absence.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger seemingly recognises his ability and importance on the team, and it appears he has absolutely no intention of selling him this summer with clubs monitoring his situation.
The Gunners are in for another striker this summer, yet it looks as if Wenger is planning on bringing in a new face to suppliment Giroud rather than have in mind the idea of potentially replacing him.
