Arsenal will reach out to Mesut Ozil by offering to pay off his £18 million contract, so he can leave the club, according to a report.
The Mirror have claimed that Ozil doesn’t want to leave the Emirates Stadium, but Arsenal are willing to pay off his big-money contract in order to free up funds.
It is said that there are no obvious takers for Ozil, who hardly featured for Mikel Arteta after the restart and has one year left on his current deal.
This Ozil situation has simply turned into a mess and those who offered him the big-money deal in the first place are no doubt to blame.
Arsenal fans may ask why the club cannot afford to pay big money to a number of their stars, like their Premier League rivals, and with it bring in fresh faces to bulk up the squad.
But those very same fans have known for some while how their club operates and it seems that Ozil needs to get off the wage bill if there is to be some serious movement in the transfer market this summer.

During the short period of time Arteta has been in North London, he has already proven that if he is given the backing then he can get the club back to the top.
But if the FA Cup holders are unable to make the movements they want then that will cause havoc for Arteta heading into the new season, which starts at the beginning of next month.
It’s a quite turnaround, and whilst Arsenal ended the season on a high with that FA Cup win, defensive qualities are needed in midfield and in defence if things are to get better.
