Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have serious interest in Cody Gakpo, but Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United remain in talks over signing the PSV and Netherlands international forward, according to The Mirror.
The report has claimed that Leeds wanted to sign Gakpo from PSV in the summer of 2022 and even put a private jet on standby to bring the 23-year-old to Elland Road.
However, the move did not happen, but Leeds ‘have continued to talk to Gakpo’s advisers in recent months’.
The report has claimed that despite the Whites’ interest in Gakpo, who played for the Netherlands at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, Arsenal, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Real Madrid are the four clubs most likely to sign him.
PSV want £50 million for the 23-year-old, according to The Mirror.
