Arsenal have been linked with Marcelo Brozovic.
According to The Sun, Arsenal have had a bid for Dinamo Zagreb’s Marcelo Brozovic rejected.
The report claims that the Gunners have made an approach for the midfielder worth £11.5 million, but the Croatian side are currently holding out for more amid strong interest from Inter Milan.
The 23-year-old star is currently on loan at Italian giants Inter where he has impressed with a string of fine performances for Roberto Mancini’s side.
Brozovic, predominantly a deep-lying playmaker, has made 22 Serie A appearances this season, scoring three goals and adding a further two assists.
Arsenal have long been alerted to his potential, and the Gunners’ struggles in midfield over the past few months has prompted Arsene Wenger to look for potential summer recruits as early as now.
Despite their intentions, however, the North London club are some way off completing a deal for Brozovic as they face stiff competition from Inter who seem keen to keep him in Milan.
The Sun go on to state that his parent club value him closer to the £20 million mark and Mancini isn’t put off by his price tag, with Inter said to be in talks with the player’s agent over a potential permanent switch.
Wenger will have a list of further options this summer, although finding the right type of midfield player could be key to his side’s chances of again competing for the Premier League title next season.
