According to Calciomercato. It via Sky Sports, Arsenal are looking to take on Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain for the signature of Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe.

The report claims that the youngster is being heavily tracked by Europe’s elite clubs and Arsenal have joined the race as they look to bring in France’s next top striker.

The 17-year-old came through the Monaco youth ranks and despite his young age made 11 league appearances last season, impressing with his silky skills and burst of pace.

On the international stage he has seven goals in eight games for the French Under-19 side, and his goalscoring exploits have seen him replace Arsenal legend Thierry Henry as Monaco’s youngest ever scorer.

A report in L’Equipe claimed Manchester City tried to bring him in on the recent transfer window deadline day, yet they were allegedly knocked back despite making a whopping £34.5 million bid.

Monaco have a history of selling top prospects for large sums of money, allowing Anthony Martial to join Manchester United 12 months ago in a groundbreaking deal.

Mbappe at 17 is younger than Martial, and to some observers he is viewed as the more promising prospect.

Arsenal have made a habit of signing top youngsters from France, and boss Arsene Wenger will be hoping his influence can persuade Mbappe to move to the Emirates Stadium over a host of potential suitors.
