Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are reportedly ready to make a bid for Romeo Lavia, but the Gunners think that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will be a major problem for them.
Arsenal think they will face strong competition from Liverpool for Romeo Lavia
The Times are reporting this evening (6:20pm, July 3, 2023) that Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing Romeo Lavia from Southampton in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that Arsenal are ready to make a move for the former Manchester City prospect after they wrap up the signing of England international midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham United.
Chelsea and Manchester United want to sign Lavia, who cost Southampton £12 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Manchester City last summer (The Times).
The Times have claimed that Arsenal “expect to face strong competition from Liverpool for the 19-year-old”.
The report has added that Southampton want £50 million for Lavia, who has been described as “incredible” by City manager Pep Guardiola.

Could Arsenal beat Liverpool to Romeo Lavia signing?
In our opinion, Arsenal could be able to beat Liverpool to the signing of Romeo Lavia in the summer transfer window.
If the Gunners paid the £50 million transfer fee that the Saints want for Lavia, then they would be able to get him.
We do not think that the Belgium international would turn down the chance to move to Arsenal this summer.
Now, of course, Liverpool, like Arsenal, are a big club and a global brand.
But, the Gunners will play in the UEFA Champions League next season and have a very young and dynamic team.
And if Arsenal paid the £50 million for Lavia, then it would show the teenage just how much they want him and value him.
